“The financial results registered by Raiffeisen Bank for the first six months are very good and show that the bank continued to consolidate its third position on the Romanian banking system. Two years ago we only wanted to become profitable, while now we have more targets in view. With the support of our shareholders, we will continue our development, focusing especially on the efficiency growth and improvement of the services’ quality standards”, Steven van Groningen, the president of Raiffeisen Bank stated.

The press release also points out that loans to customers granted by Raiffeisen Bank went up to € 1,391.1 million, registering an increase of 53% as compared to the same reporting period 2004. The bank also registered a growth in customers’ deposits, which rose by 84 % to € 1.683,7 million.

The excellent results obtained by Raiffeisen Bank were recognized by numerous foreign and Romanian publications. Global Finance magazine awarded Raiffeisen Bank “Best Bank in Romania” for two years in a row, 2004 and 2005.
