Citibank Romania has received today the National Bank of Romania’s approval to enlarge its Management Board by five new members. Shahmir Khaliq (36), Citi Country Officer, was certified as the bank’s General Manager by the National Bank of Romania, said the bank in a statement.
The other newly approved Deputy General Managers are: Adela Radulescu (35), Senior Country Operations Officer, Cristela Georgescu (36), Global Transactions Services Head, Florin Petrescu (31), Country HR Officer and Corina Motoc (43), Chief Financial Officer.
Shahmir Khaliq has a 15-year banking experience within Citi. Before joining Citi Romania, Shahmir was the Head of Local Debt Capital Markets, Fixed Income Sales and Trading CEEMEA, based in London. He first joined the group in Pakistan, 1991, and held various senior positions within the Corporate and Investment Bank in Pakistan, Belgium, and UK prior to his current position in Romania. Shahmir holds degrees in economics and finance from the London School of Economics and the London Business School, as well as an MBA from the University of Karachi. Shahmir is also a Senior Credit Officer of the bank.
Adela Radulescu has been the bank’s Senior Country Operations Officer since 2003, and she has been with Citi since 1996, covering different positions in operations management. She has overall 13 years of banking history, and extensive management experience.
Cristela Georgescu has been with Citi for over 10 years. Under her leadership, in addition to launching strategic alliances and industry-leading, innovative products in cash management, trade finance and securities, the GTS division also provides client coverage for global corporations and financial institutions, and customer service. Cristela Moldoveanu is member of the board in several NGOs dedicated to community projects.
Corina Motoc has been the bank’s CFO for 10 years. She joined Citi 11 years ago and she has 13 years of banking experience. Florin Petrescu has been Citi Romania’s Country HR Officer since 2002, and has almost 8 years of experience within the bank. He has numerous HR, Leadership and organizational development certifications. Last year, he became member of the Citi’s EMEA Training Center, specialized in Situational Leadership.
Victor Andrei continues to be member of the Management Board. He has 15 years of banking experience, which includes several years with the Central Bank. Victor Andrei continues to advise the President and the business in all NBR/ Treasury related matters. Victor Andrei is ACI (Financial Markets’ Association) Romania’s president.
